Install failed three times in a row!
Trying another folder... the install folder existed once in the past... maybe that is an issue?

Great bug tracker and how to solve it’s email notification bug
Mantis is a great easy to use and manage bug tracker tool. Unfortunately this version has a bug – it does not send notification email to its users upon new bug submission. To fix that issue all you need is to add these two lines to the config_inc.php file: $g_notify_flags['new']['threshold_min'] = DEVELOPER; $g_notify_flags['new']['threshold_max'] = ADMINISTRATOR; After adding these two lines: every user defined as DEVELOPER or ADMINISTRATOR or in-between will receive notification emails for every new bug submission. Enjoy

5 stars for Mantis 1 stars for Godaddy
The application is just what I was looking for. It has a lot of configuration options, the options are fairly easy to understand, and the reports are also good. I did have problems getting emails to work after installing it on Godaddy. Godaddy was not helpful to resolve these issues. This is what I had to do : - During the installation, it asks for an admin email address. This email address must be from the same domain as what you are installing to. For example, if you are installing to abc.com then the admin email must be like admin@abc.com. If you use an email like bob@hotmail.com, you will get errors like : ... while talking to relay-hosting . secureserver . net: MAIL From bob@hotmail.com SIZE 7466 553 sorry, your mail was administratively denied. (5.7.1)501 5.6.0 Data format error As another very helpful reviewer states, $g_return_path_email must also be an email address that matches the domain where you are installing to. This is what my config_inc.php file looked like for email params (formatting modified because it's complaining I can't use html or scripting in reviews... but hopefully you get the point) g_administrator_email = 'admin@abc.com' g_webmaster_email = 'webmaster@abc.com' g_from_email = 'noreply@abc.com' g_return_path_email = 'admin@abc.com' g_send_reset_password = ON g_use_phpMailer = ON Good Luck.

Awesome PHP software (And a little tip)
Mantis is really cool. I would have rather used bugzilla, but I don't have perl on my server. Anyway, I thought I'd share an important tip with anyone who uses Mantis. (Either from source or from godaddy). Because of the way Godaddy's servers are setup, you need to be really careful with this variable in the config file: $g_return_path_email. This variable specifies the email address for bounced email. This variable MUST MUST MUST be overridden and set in the config file. If you don't, emails won't be set. Also, this variable must be set to an email address UNDER YOUR DOMAIN HOSTED WITH GODADDY. Thus, you couldn't put steve@mac.com if steve had the domain name microsoft.com. This has to do with godaddy's spam blocking. Hope this helps!
