Akismet is the best for spam filtering
I've not used the paid version, but the free version of Akismet is stellar and keeps spam off of my WordPress blog. For those of you that make money from your blog, you "pro" bloggers, paid Akismet is right up-your-alley.

It's almost good.
The pros: It has a lot of potential. The cons: Support is poor. Documentation is vague. Can't even turn it off without downloading widget after widget. It may be something I turn back to in the future but I think I'll give it a few years first.
